Specialized's Crossroads Armadillo Elite Tire handles bike paths, pavement and dirt roads without hesitation. The continuous center tread rolls quick while the side knobs provide outstanding cornering grip. The lightweight Aramid bead and the 120 tpi casing provide a smooth ride. And, Specialized's Armadillo technology helps keep flats at bay so you can enjoy the ride.

Specialized's Armadillo Puncture Protection.

Armadillo is Specialized's classic puncture protection technology. A woven nylon cap-ply (see image, light brown) with woven aramid belt under the tread (tan) provides outstanding puncture resistance, while the wire bead keeps the tire economical.

The high thread-per-inch casing let this tire conform to the road/trail for superior cornering and comfort.

    Comments:

I ride the Santa Ana River bike trail in Southern California with a group of guys about 10 in total they all have had flats except me. The trail is littered with broken glass, stickers, broken shells. The seagulls drop clams and mussels on the trail to eat the contents. I keep the tires at max pressure 500 miles no flats.
